Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of ConcreteCals and the concrete calculator. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The important part

ConcreteCals provides planning estimates, not engineering or professional advice. Always verify the volume, mix, reinforcement, and cost with a qualified professional and your ready-mix supplier before ordering or pouring concrete.

Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and ConcreteCals (“we”, “us”, or “our”) regarding this website and the concrete calculator. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. If you use the site on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.

The service

ConcreteCals is a free online calculator that estimates concrete volume, bag counts, and material cost for common shapes. It is provided for general informational and planning purposes. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Estimates, not professional advice

Results are estimates only. They are not engineering, architectural, structural, legal, or safety advice, and they are not a substitute for a licensed professional or your ready-mix supplier. Concrete mix design, reinforcement, subgrade preparation, drainage, frost depth, load requirements, and local building codes can materially affect the material you need.

Always verify the final volume, mix, and price with a qualified professional and comply with applicable codes and permit requirements before ordering or pouring. You are responsible for the final decision.

Accuracy and assumptions

The calculator uses standard geometry and widely published planning values. It assumes that the dimensions you enter are correct and that the selected units match your measurements.

  • Bag yields are approximate: about 0.37 cubic feet for a 50 lb bag, 0.45 cubic feet for a 60 lb bag, and 0.60 cubic feet for an 80 lb bag. Actual yield varies by brand and product.
  • Volume is converted at 27 cubic feet per cubic yard. Metric results are converted using standard factors.
  • The waste allowance is chosen by you. It is not a recommendation for your specific project.
  • Bag counts are rounded up, and displayed volume is rounded. Supplier batching, minimum loads, short-load fees, delivery, tax, and finishing costs are not included.

We do not guarantee that any result will match your supplier's quote, the actual yield of the product you buy, or the concrete required by your site conditions.

Your responsibilities

Before ordering or pouring concrete, you are responsible for:

  • Taking accurate measurements and entering the correct shape and units.
  • Checking the calculation independently before relying on it.
  • Obtaining any required permits and following applicable building codes.
  • Selecting an appropriate mix, reinforcement, and curing method.
  • Maintaining a safe worksite and providing appropriate supervision and protective equipment.

Do not rely solely on ConcreteCals for structural, safety-critical, or code-sensitive work.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Interfere with the site's operation, security, or availability.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data.
  • Use automated scraping or data mining that burdens the site or reproduces its content.
  • Upload or transmit malware, harmful code, or malicious content.
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with ConcreteCals or another person or organization.

We may restrict or suspend access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

Intellectual property

The site's content, design, text, graphics, calculator logic, code, and branding are owned by ConcreteCals or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the site and its results for personal or internal business project planning. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, scrape, or create derivative works from the site or its content, or remove proprietary notices, without our written permission. You may share links and short quotations with attribution.

Feedback and submissions

If you send feedback, suggestions, corrections, or bug reports, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and incorporate them to improve the service. Please do not send confidential or proprietary information that you do not want us to use. We are not obligated to compensate or credit you.

Third-party links and services

Links to third-party websites, products, or services are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site and calculator are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ConcreteCals and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or project delays, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us to use the site in the 12 months before the claim, which is $0 because the calculator is free, or (b) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ConcreteCals and its operators, contributors, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use or misuse of the site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of ConcreteCals is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected].

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the site changes or the law requires. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. If a change is material, we will make that clear on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the site.

General terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Headings are for convenience only.
